By Mr Larry Matlala, Founder & President
Progressive Tshwane Alliance (PTA012)
"Zwakalang! Re a le amogela!" (Listen! We welcome you!)
Today, 8th April 2026, is not just the launch of a political movement. It is the reclaiming of a promise - a promise written in the very first words of our Constitution:
For 31 years, those words have been printed on paper. But in our city - the capital of our nation - they have been buried under broken promises, political games & Experiemnts, and the systematic looting of our dignity.
Five mayors in one term.
Twenty years without clean water in Hammanskraal.
Forty-seven percent of our young people without jobs.
R87 million wasted on WiFi that never reached our townships.
Street lights that have been dark for a decade.
Potholes that swallow our cars and our hope.
Enough is enough.
THE PEOPLE SHALL GOVERN - NOT POLITICIANS
Let me be very clear: The Progressive Tshwane Alliance is not a political party. We are a movement - a home for community champions who are tired of being told what to do by people who do not live in their streets, do not know their children, and do not care about their suffering & Used for Votes Only.
We are built on one simple, revolutionary principle:
THE COMMUNITY IS THE CANDIDATE.
- You nominate the person you trust - your neighbour, your aunt, your young hero.
- You endorse them - 50 signatures from your ward.
- You recall them - 30% of registered voters can remove any champion who fails you.
No Luthuli House. No Malema's kitchen or Nkandla Tea meetings. No party bosses. No strangers or outsider PR Candidates.
VISION 2030 - A SMART, PROSPEROUS, CARING CITY
Free WiFi in every township, smart meters, e‑governance.
15,000 direct jobs - Africa's first locally manufactured global vehicle.
Clean water guaranteed, 24‑hour pothole repair, reliable electricity.
Clean audits, public procurement dashboard, zero corruption.
Youth employment, creative hubs, festivals, heritage restoration.
Affordable housing, land release, informal settlement upgrading.
Expanded Metro Police, CCTV, weekly waste collection, 1 million trees.
A 24‑HOUR CITY - LIKE GUANGZHOU, RIGHT HERE IN TSHWANE
Why can't Tshwane be a city that never sleeps? It can. And it will.
- ✅ Cut stupid by‑laws and red tape - 24‑hour business registration, online, instant.
- ✅ Safe streets for everyone - well‑lit, CCTV cameras, Metro Police who protect.
- ✅ Economy moving 24/7 - jobs for night shifts, opportunities for young people.
